Who the Nova design suits
Nova suits designers, marketers, social media managers, content creators and recent graduates in creative fields, where personality is part of the pitch and a photo is normal. The violet gradient and rounded tags are deliberate, so it is a poor match for audit, law or government applications, where a reader may judge the style before the content.
How the page is laid out
Nova splits the page into a violet gradient sidebar on the left, a little over a third wide, and a main column topped by a gradient banner with a rounded lower corner that holds the name, title and contact details in white Poppins. The sidebar carries skills as rounded outlined pills, language dots, certifications and awards. Main headings are violet capitals with an icon tile and no rule. A rounded photo is switched on by default.
How it reads to an ATS
Nova is two columns, read main column first and sidebar second, so experience and education come through before skills. The banner and sidebar text is real text on a coloured background. The photo is an image and is ignored by parsers; drop it for US, UK and Canadian applications and keep it where photos are expected. For a large corporate applicant portal, a single-column design is the safer choice.
